Dry Heat Biological Indicator
SteriVision Dry Heat Biological Indicator is designed to provide microbiological verification of dry heat sterilization cycles used in healthcare, laboratory, and industrial settings. The self-contained indicators can be positioned directly among loads, inside packs, or at locations considered most difficult for heat to reach. Their robust glass ampoule and protective plastic vial construction helps maintain integrity throughout processing while providing clear evidence that the required time and temperature conditions have been achieved.
Each indicator contains viable Bacillus atrophaeus (ATCC 9372) spores, selected for their high resistance to dry heat. After exposure, the internal ampoule is activated and the indicator is incubated for 48 hours. A visible color response in the growth medium indicates whether microbial growth is present, enabling personnel to distinguish a successful cycle from a potential sterilization failure and document the result with confidence.
Key Benefits and Features
Place the indicator directly inside the dry heat sterilizer, between instruments or packs, and at the most challenging points of the load without disrupting routine workflow.
Highly resistant Bacillus atrophaeus spores provide direct microbiological evidence of the cycle’s ability to inactivate resistant microorganisms.
Following 48 hours of incubation, the color of the growth medium provides an easy-to-interpret indication of cycle performance.
Reliability and Traceability
Complete Traceability: Each indicator label carries reference (REF), lot (LOT), and expiry (EXP) information to support accurate documentation and retrospective tracking.
International Standard: Designed for use in ISO 11138-aligned sterilization monitoring and quality assurance programs.
